Telugu Cinema: Mahesh 'Dookudu' Filming Blast Sequences

Mahesh Babu upcoming film 'Dhookudu' is progressing at a rapid speed in Hyderabad. The unit is canning action scenes on Mahesh and others under the supervision of action director Vijay at Shankarapalli in the outskirts of Hyderabad, where a few blast sequences are being canned.
Dhookudu audio is expected to release on August 7th. Samantha is paired up with Mahesh Babu in Dhookudu. Kona Venkat is penning the dialogues and Gopi Mohan is the story writer. Thaman is scoring music and Srinu Vytla is directing this movie on 14 Reels entertainment banner. Anil Sunkara, Ram Achanta, Gopichand Achanta are the producers.

Telugu Cinema: Dhada audio, a hat-trick hit for Naga Chaitanya!

Naga Chaitanya’s latest film Dhada audio songs were released into the market and are already rocking the charts. This is a power packed audio from Devi Sri Prasad, which is full of energy. All the songs in the album are energetic and entertaining.

Dhada audio is a sure winner as most of the songs would please the masses. This is the third musical hit for Naga Chaitanya after Ye Maya Chesave and 100% Love. Devi Sri Prasad, who also composed music for 100% Love, had given mostly situational songs for that film.

But this time, DSP came up with mass friendly songs as Dhada is a commercial film. It is publicized as the film that would give Chaitanya a break into mass market. As per the audio is concerned it is poised to be so.

Telugu Film: Gabbar Sing's Mother confirmed

Gabbar Singh, which is a Telugu remake ofSalman Khan’s blockbuster Dabangg will start rolling from the month of August. Latest news about the movie is thatSuhasini Maniratnam is acting as the Mother of pawan kalyan in the movie.

Harish Shankar is directing this film on Parameswara Arts banners that madeTheen Maar movie with Pawan. Shruti Haasan has been finalized as the female lead in it. Almost all the cast and crew of Gabbar Singh have been finalized and the film’s gearing up to regular shoot in August. This film is expected to be ready for release by next Pongal.

Telugu Movie: Can the hit pair lit up the screens with Sega!

Nani and Nithya Menon, the pair that sizzled in Ala Modalaindi is back with Sega. It is a bilingual and is slated for release in Telugu and Tamil tomorrow. Anjana Ali Khan makes her debut as a director with this film which is produced by Gautam Menon in Tamil.

Sega is titled Veppam in Tamil and is touted to be an unusual story of four youngsters. The screenplay and concept of this film are told to be the selling factors. Sega is carrying positive buzz due to Nani and Nithya’s previous film proving to be a hit with the Telugu youth.

It is sure to open with packed houses in cities. But we have to wait and see if the hit pair can light up the screen with this Sega or not.

Varun Sandesh’s upcoming film Priyudu is currently being filmed in Bangkok, where a couple of songs are being canned on Varun sandesh, Pritika Rao and Swetha basu prasad. Those songs are filming under the choreography of Nixon and Raghu.

Preetika Rao and Swetha Basu Prasad are the heroines in Priyudu. Varun Sandesh has been out of form for sometime now. This film is being directed by Shravan on UK Avenues banner. Uday Kiran is the producer of this film. Mohan Jona is scoring the Music and Malhat Bhatt is handling the cinematography.

Kamakshi Movies that is dedicated to do continuous films with Akkineni Nagarjuna, is once again planning to do a high budget film with him in the lead. The very next release from this banner is Naga Chaitanya’s Dhada.

From hereon D. Shiva Prasad Reddy will do alternate films with Akkineni Nagarjuna and Chaitanya. After Dhada, it is Nag’s film which will be directed by a popular director. Then they will make their next movie with Chaitanya.

Nagarjuna has been doing most of his movies on this banner in the recent past. King, Ragada, Kedi, Boss and Nenunnanu were all made on Kamakshi Movies.

Telugu Cinema: Vinayak’s voice over for Ram’s Kandireega

Top director VV Vinayak is giving voice over for Ram movie Kandireega which is slated for August release. Vinayak will give his voice over for the villain introduction scene which is very important one in the film.

Directors doing cameos and giving voice over is not a new thing in Tollywood. Vinayak, Rajamouli and Puri Jaganadh are always the frontrunners for such things. Vinayak also is a good actor. He did cameos in Tagore and Neninthe movies.

Kandireega is slated for August 12th release as of now. Ram and Hansika are super confident about the film as they couldn’t hide their excitement with the film nearing the release date.

Director Selva Raghavan’s next film is confirmed. It is a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil. Anushka is roped in to play the female lead and Arya of Vaadu Veedu fame would don the role of her romantic interest. The heroine character is as important as hero’s role in it.

Anushka who heard the script few days back was mighty impressed with it. She has immediately given nod to Selva Raghavan. Earlier he planned to do a female centric film with her, but it didn’t materialize.

Selva Raghavan who was supposed to do a period film with Allu Arjun has put that on the back for the moment. It will be Anushka and Arya that will star in his immediate film. We have to wait for the official update on Allu Arjun’s film.

Telugu Film: Jr NTR teams up with Andhrawala director!

Puri Jagannadh was one of the leading directors at the time when NTR Jr requested to do a film with him. Puri obliged and the result was something NTR wouldn’t have expected in his worst possible nightmare. Puri Jagannadh failed to deliver the goods for once and the result was a terrible disaster called Andhrawala.

From then on Puri has been looking to compensate the loss for NTR. Despite with both the parties willing to team up again, second film in their combo didn’t work out till date. The latest buzz from film nagar says that they are finally teaming up.

An official announcement would be made soon regarding this film very soon. Hope Puri gets it right this time to make NTR happy.

Kajal Agarwal acted in few Tamil films before Naan Mahan Alla, but nothing worked out. NMA is the first success for her in Tamil. Red hot Karthi, who is yet to taste a flop, gave her first memorable film in Kollywood.

Now Naan Mahan Alla is coming to Telugu as Naa Peru Shiva. This movie is slated for release on August 5. Both Karthi and Kajal expect this film to do well in Telugu and do good to their already booming market in Andhra. Kajal doesn’t need any intro about her popularity over here.

Even Karthi proved successful with Yuganiki Okkadu and Aawara minting very good money for their buyers. He likes to hit a hat trick with this film.

'Bezwada Rowdilu' Title Controversy at High court door steps

Naga Chaitanya is acting as the main lead in the movie Bezwada Rowdilu in the production of Ram Gopal Varma and the movie is doing its shooting in Vijayawada and Guntur as of now. The controversies which got more curiosity over this project.

Now the 'Bezawada Rowdilu' title controversy knocked the High court doors. Gowtham Reddy an advocate filed a petition in High court against Bejawada Rowdilu demanding for the change of movie’s title. After hearings the High court bench has given censor Board legal counsel a week time for a report on the issue.

Earlier, Bezawada Rowdeelu landed in trouble as few people from Vijayawada are not happy with the title and also have objections over the content. Ram Gopal Varma and Koneru Kiran Kumar are jointly producing the movie. This film is slated for release on Dussera. Vivek Krishna is making directorial debut with Bezawada Rowdeelu.

Story:
Krishna (Krishnudu) is a happy go lucky guy who waits for his opportunity to go to America. One fine morning he falls in love with Divya (Ananya). But his life takes a different turn when his parents fix his marriage with another girl. Meanwhile, another girl chases him saying that she loves her. Whom among three will Krishna marry and what happens to his America dreams is the rest of the story.

Analysis:
Amayakudu movie didn’t have any plot to start with. Director failed to bring his ideas on to the screen in an effective way. Audience will not have any clue about what happens on the screen. Director’s lack of grip over all the crafts made this film a painful watch. It would require loads of energy and patience to sit through this movie.

Performances:
Krishnudu once again disappoints with his lackluster performance. After starring in more than half a dozen films, Krishnudu is still weak in giving the right expressions. He should seriously rethink about the decision to star as a hero in any given film.

Ananya and Poonam Singar failed to light up the screen either with their glamour or with their performance. Charan Raj and Rao Ramesh have been wasted. Rest of the cast did within their limitations.

Tehnicalities:
Manikanth Kadri’s music is the only saving grace in this film. Songs are good on ears and so is the background score. Despite having big names in the crew such as Marthand and Jayaram, the director failed to use their talent and experience.

Telugu Movies: Jr NTR Joins Srinu Vytla’s Mafia!

NTR Jr who is right now busy with Surender’s Oosaravelli and Boyapati’sChura Kathi is all set to do his next film under Srinu Vytla direction. This film will be produced by Ganesh Babu on Parameshwara Arts banner. It is believed that Srinu Vytla told a family comedy script to NTR for which the latter was mighty impressed.

Ganesh Babu has registered an interesting title ‘Mafia – O Manchi Kutumbam’ recently at film chamber. Film sources say that this title is registered for NTR, Srinu Vytla’s movie. Nothing has been finalized yet for this film which is likely to go to sets in October.

Srinu Vytla is busy with Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu which is in the last leg of shooting. With bagging Mahesh and NTR’s movies in a row, Srinu Vytla is regarded as the top rated director in Tollywood.

Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara settles in Singapore

Prabhu Deva was recently divorced from his wife Ramlath legally and there are no more hassles for him to marry Nayanthara, his lady love. They are planning to get married in September as per the grapevine.

Telugu Film: Slight delay in Dhada audio launch

Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming film Dhada is gearing up for release in August second week. Meanwhile the audio of this film will hit the stores on next Monday that is on July 25. Earlier the audio launch was planned on July 24 but the producer decided it to push it further because of Bonalu festival in Hyderabad.

Dhada audio songs would be launched at Shilpakala Vedika, a venue which has been proving lucky for Akkineni heroes. All the Akkineni heroes are expected to grace this occasion. Shiva Prasad Reddy made so many films with Nagarjuna in the past and Dhada is his first film with Chaitanya in the lead.

Devi Sri Prasad is the music director of Dhada and Kajal Agarwal plays the female lead. Ajay Bhuyan is the director of this film.

Young Hero Ram’s latest movie 'Kandireega' is gearing up for release on August 5. Earlier, the movie was slated to release on July 29, Due to late in post production work it has been been postponed. 'Bezawada Rowdeelu' shooting problems continuing

Naga Chaitanya's 'Bezawada Rowdeelu' was stopped shooting at kothapeta in Guntur by the Traffic Police. Actually this craziest project will be shooted in Vijayawada, but the title 'Bezawada Rowdeelu' made into controversy. So this was shifted to Guntur to shoot the chase on Naga Chaitanya on Tuesday.

The controversies which got more curiosity over this project and made heavy crowded over the streets of Guntur. Due to the traffic problems, Traffic police stopped the shooting of the film eventhough they got permission from SP A.Ravichandra.

Kajal slaps Naga Chaitanya on Dhada sets?

This is probably the hottest gossip that is making rounds among Tollywood circles at the moment. Recently, Dhada lead pairNaga Chaitanya and Kajal Agarwal were into a verbal brawl which turned very ugly, says grapevine.

It is rumored that things are not perfect between Dhada pair right from the word go.Kajal used to throw tantrums on the sets posing that she is senior to Chaitanya. The young Akkineni kept his cool for sometime but has lost his temper and started to shout on Kajal it seems.

Raviteja seems to be the destination for many struggling and flop directors these days. The actor has been working with directors that are either struggling for chances or who are desperate to prove themselves after delivering flops.

As per the latest news from film circles,Raviteja agreed to do a film under Meher Ramesh direction. Meher Ramesh’s previous film Shakti with NTR Jr is a colossal flop. Even his first two films Kantriand Billa were commercial flops.

Shakti in particular showed Meher Ramesh’s inefficiency and people thought that it would be very tough for the director bag another chance. However, Raviteja didn’t learn from NTR’s mistakes and is testing his own luck by signing him in. Malla Vijay Prasad is the producer of this film.

Shruti Haasan is making her Tamil debut with Suriya’s Ezham Arivu, directed by Murugadoss. She has also signed on the dotted line for Soundarya Rajinikanth’s production. With so many films on hand she has been constantly shuttling between Chennai and Hyderabad.

Telugu Movie: Prakash Raj to direct Dhoni

Veteran actor Prakash Raj is all set to don director’s cap in Tollywood. He is planning to direct a bilingual titled Dhoni as per the buzz. Prakash Raj made his debut as a director in Kannada with the remake of Aakasamantha movie,

Venkat will produce Dhoni under RR Movie Makers banner. This film will also mark Prakash Raj’s debut as director in Tamil film industry. Prakash Raj has proved himself as a very good producer with a series of good films in Tamil.

Now he wants to prove himself as a good director. Recently he is not seen as often as he used to be on screen. His focus has shifted to bigger things as he is getting busy in Bollywood.

Telugu Movie: NTR Jr dream not in Rajamouli hands

Young tiger Jr NTR expressed his wish to remake his legendary grandfather’s Dana Veera Soora Karna many a time. He also wished that Rajamouli should direct the movie. But Rajamouli cleared the air by stating that he is not interested in remaking DVSK.

Rajamouli said that he is looking forward to do mythological film based on Maha Bharatha but also mentioned DVSK is not what he is looking at. To make things clear, he said that DVSK might take off in the combination of NTR Jr and Vinayak.

Vinayak has always been second choice for NTR if Rajamouli isn’t available and with Rajamouli stating that he is not ready to do DVSK, Vinay and NTR Junior should start off this project sometime in the future.

Update on Rajamouli’s Eega:
Writer Janardhana Maharshi is penning dialogues for Rajamouli’s Eega. M. Rathnam is a regular for Rajamouli films and this should be the big break for struggling Maharshi.

Story:

Krishna (Vikram) is a mentally disabled person who has a five year old daughter Vennela (Baby Sarah). One day Vennela’s granddad comes and takes her away from Krishna and tells that Krishna can’t bring her up on his own. A junior lawyer Anu (Anushka) takes up Krishna’s case and she has to face a very big lawyer (Nazar) to win the case. Does Krishna and Anu succeed to get back Vennela or not is the rest of the story.

Analysis:
This story is inspired from Sean Penn’s I Am Sam movie. But the story is brilliantly changed to the local nativity and sensibilities. Earlier Ajay Devgn did this movie in Hindi as Main Aisa Hi Hoon. However, Vikram still comes up as a winner with his extraordinary performance.

First half of the film is completely dedicated to develop the father-daughter bond. Every scene is cute and heart warming in the first half. Despite the slow pace of the movie it still manages to keep the audience interested. Director did his best to make this an arresting drama by throwing in various twists here and there.

Second half of the film is very good. Suddenly the pace picks up and the movie races ahead. Anushka and Santhanam did well to make this part entertaining. Court scenes are good although few defy logic. The film gets heavier as it reaches the climax and the best part of Nanna is definitely it. Last scene in the court touches you and leaves you with a lump in the throat. Most of the audience can’t help but cry in those heart touching scenes where the father and daughter just speak to each other through signs.

The ending of Nanna is brilliant too. It is the best solution for it and we walk out of the theatres with heavy hearts. Nanna is not for masala movie lovers and people who walk in to the theatres with a can of popcorn.

Performances:

This is definitely one of the top performances of Vikram. His antics as a mentally retarded man are superb. You won’t see Vikram in few scenes. We will get a feeling that he is really suffering with that disorder. Hats off to the great actor. Also his makeup and costumes deserves special applause.

Anushka comes up with a winning performance. Her character is innocent yet sincere. Santhanam brings in few laughs with his one-liners. Nazar is at his very best. Amala Paul didn’t have much scope. Watch out for his expressions where he is left dumbstruck in the climax court room scene. Priceless. Everyone did their part very well and the little kid Sarah is so confident.

Tehnicalities:

G.V. Prakash Kumar’s music is good. Background score is an asset. Nirav Shah’s cinematography is another plus point. Editing by Anthony is good but could’ve trimmed a bit in the first hour. Dialogues are simple yet beautiful.

A.L. Vijay takes a very tough subject and handles it so well. It has the danger of falling under heavy sentiment zone but Vijay made sure that it is entertaining and engaging. He handled the sentiment scenes so well that anyone should feel the pinch of it. Kudos to Vijay!

- Dragged a bit in the first hour

Final Word: Nanna is a winner!

Box office predictions: Nanna opened to weak collections but will surely pick up with the mouth talk. This film should do well in Telugu and excellent business in Tamil.
